Barred Rock Farm NY
Welcome to Barred Rock Farm NY! We are located in beautiful, scenic Columbia County, New York. The farm was started in 1962 by Cecil Jacob Coons. He started with a few chickens selling eggs and progressed from there. He always wanted a farm and once the kids were grown, they moved from the City of Hudson to West Ghent, NY. The farm was originally in West Ghent, NY and when he became ill and died of cancer, his dream was put on hold. Years later his daughter, Judith Coons French, and her two girls restarted his dream and continued on. They kept the farm name he started out with, Barred Rock Farm. There are chickens again as well as goats, turkeys, and ducks. With the passing of the Matriarch of the farm, we downsized to just selling chickens for eggs as well as for show and eggs for hatching and food. His farm and memory will live on in his daughter's family continuing what he started all those years ago.
